Browns: Clowney. #KRM

Long time Frowns and Kanick and Cheddar participant Zarathustra drew the Browns’ fourth pick in the Kanick Reader Mock.  Sounds fun right?  You get to be Ray Farmer and stake out a direction on offense or defense, line play or playmakers, or pick the quarterback who will end that horrific QB-names-since-Tim-Couch meme. Welp.   Turns out, notsomuch.  With the easy...

KRM: Sammy Watkins taken at #3 by Jags.

Kanick Reader Mock presses on today with one of my timeline’s most committed handicappers at the podium.  Here is ClevTA’s break down of the Jaguars’ possible pick at #3. 2014 Off Season Transactions. It’s not that hard to figure out for whom Jags Head Coach Gus Bradley used to work based on their off-season moves.  By bringing in defensive lineman...

KRM: Rams Take Greg Robinson.

Second installment of the Kanick Reader Mock is offered up by friend of site, ex-of The Reboot, Dave Kolonich. The early consensus is the Rams will trade the second overall draft pick – presumably to a QB-needy team or one who really thinks Jadeveon Clowney is the second coming of … Jadeveon Clowney. In an ideal mock draft football universe, such a...

Kanick Reader Mock: Texans select Blake Bortles.

JPFTribe is our man in Singapore.  Since he’s on vacation next week (Vietnam!) I asked him to take us out with the Texans’ pick.  BTW, in editing his post, the underscoring is mine.  With some of the points made by JPF, it was an involuntary response to reach for a highlighter. Kanick very graciously asked for help in stealing borrowing...

2014 Kanick Reader Mock.

The guys at Dawgs by Nature1 had a fun feature last year when they invited a reader to be GM for a day and write a post on whom they would take and why.2 I thought it was be fun to try the same idea but with some of the readers/friends of this here year-old site.  The concept is simple:  we...

Baking the 2014 Browns.

We’ve got a plan and it’s baking.  We’re following the same recipe as last year and we’re 100x more optimistic that this could bear some resemblance to something Berea might actually try to put into play.  The recipe is is this: Identify gaps/holes; Inventory draft/UFAs with respect to relative strength by position; Project where the best value intersects with most...

Combine risers and fallers.

Combine is over. I shouldn’t admit this but I love the combine.  (I also shouldn’t admit that I’m that last person on Earth to discover Pharrell’s Happy song1 and if it weren’t for the combine intro music I still wouldn’t have found it.)  It’s great background noise for four days and I think NFLN does a good job with it....

Whom I’m watching at the combine.

I want to get out a quick piece on some of the prospects who caught my eye over the past year and get it out BEFORE the combine.  Nothing scientific here, just going to review the list of combine invitees and if I’ve got an opinion, I’m throwing it out there. I find this more fun to do before some...
